Mittens are traditionally knitted working up from the cuff. These basic mittens turn that convention on its head by starting at the fingertips and working down. I've crocheted top-down mittens before, and these are the knitted version.
The knitting is pretty simple. There are no complicated stitches or techniques, and since the pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, the mittens work up quickly. Directions are provided for four sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large–which correspond to a children’s small, children’s large, women’s, and men’s.
